Signs your hybrid battery needs looking at
Most hybrid packs do not fail all at once. One or two modules weaken first, and the car tells you in small ways before it tells you with a warning light.
What our battery health check covers
- Voltage of every module, at rest and under load
- State of health (SoH) analysis and cell imbalance detection
- Battery temperature, the cooling fan and its ducts
- Hybrid fault codes read and explained
- A real-world drive to see how the pack behaves
You get a report with the result of every module, so you can see exactly why we recommend what we recommend.
Recondition, refurbished or new?
General garages often go straight to a new battery because they cannot test modules one by one. We can, so you have three options and the facts to choose between them. We explain each option with its price before any work starts, and there is no pressure to go ahead.
| Option | Reconditioning | Refurbished pack | New pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| When it fits | A few weak or failed modules, the rest healthy | Many modules worn, budget matters | Pack at the end of its life, keeping the car long term |
| What we do | Replace failing modules, balance the pack | Fit a tested refurbished pack | Fit a new pack |
| Always included | Correct high-voltage installation, coding and calibration, full system test | ||
Why it matters who works on it
A hybrid pack is a high-voltage system. Working on it safely takes training, the right tools and diagnostic equipment most garages do not have. A wrong diagnosis is how drivers end up paying for a battery they did not need. We diagnose first and replace only when it is genuinely necessary.
