Plug-in versions of the Prius have been sold in several generations, each able to drive further on electric power than the regular Prius and charged from a socket or wallbox.
Alongside the usual hybrid checks we look at the charging system and how the larger battery holds its charge.

Worth checking on a Toyota Prius Plug-in
- Hybrid battery health, module by module
- Battery cooling fan and intake, which clog with dust over time
- Inverter coolant and its pump
- Brakes: hybrids brake mostly by regeneration, so calipers can seize from little use
- The 12V auxiliary battery, a common cause of a car that will not go "READY"
- Charging port, on-board charger and charging behaviour
All of these are part of our hybrid service, and the battery health check gives you a written result for every module.
