The RAV4 Hybrid uses a 2.5 litre petrol engine with Toyota's hybrid system, and all-wheel-drive versions add a rear electric motor. A plug-in version is also sold.
Beyond the usual hybrid checks we look at the rear drive unit on all-wheel-drive cars.

Worth checking on a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
- Hybrid battery health, module by module
- Battery cooling fan and intake, which clog with dust over time
- Inverter coolant and its pump
- Brakes: hybrids brake mostly by regeneration, so calipers can seize from little use
- The 12V auxiliary battery, a common cause of a car that will not go "READY"
- Rear electric drive unit on all-wheel-drive versions
All of these are part of our hybrid service, and the battery health check gives you a written result for every module.
